SMR won't hurt so there's no harm in trying it. I'd just hate to see you waste $10 or so on a product that may not do the job.

You might want to try something like Meguiar's Scratch X. About $6 a tube at any parts store. That stuff usually works well on mild scratches and scuffs. Next step up the aggressive ladder is fine cut cleaner.

As for detailers, the best way to find a good one is via word of mouth. Almost all my business comes via that manner. Ask your car crazy buddies if they know anyone. If you can give me an idea of your location, I might know someone, or know someone who knows someone, if ya know what I mean.... :)
