Bad can of Blitz wax?

I waxed my car for the first time the other day, so as much as I hate to admit it, I am not familiar with the consistency and appearance of wax. After much research I decided on One Grand Blitz Wax. I opened the tin and it was a brown sugar color and a very hard, to the point of being quite difficult to get out of the tin. As I worked the wax free it was somewhat crumbly and had a somewhat granular appearance. Now it went onto the car fine and I thought it did a fantastic job on my scarable green '93 9k CSET.
But is this what Blitz wax looks and feels like or did I get a bad batch?
Also stay tuned for my future post "Experiences of a First-Time Detailer." I bought a bunch of product and have been taking them for a spin. I'll give you my impressions FWIW.
