Just a couple of thoughts on this issue,
>Take extra care when waxing your car to avoid "overspray" onto the trim work (honestly, more emphasis on this technique can save you a lot of grief down the road),
>Dry wax on trim is more difficult to remove than uncured wax, so carefully wipe down trim areas after waxing( try waxing smaller areas to avoid having dry wax on trim),
>To remove dry wax on trim start with the least aggressive cleaner first and then try another more aggressive one- in order of increasing aggressiveness, based on the responses below( and experience), peanut oil, simple green, goo gone, mineral spirits, ... sand blasting, etc, don't know where the "nuclear stuff" GR-40 falls, however, personally, I would shy away from anything more aggressive than simple green and be very cautious when using them. Remember when using these various solvents that the trim may be soluble too. Test in a hidden area first.
My experience is that p'nut oil works and it's cheap and safe on your car's finish.
Good luck
