about. Most current vehicles (say 1996 or newer) use "pigmented (protected)" leather or another term used is "sealed" leather. This is more durable than the leather that was likely used in your '83 900.
Therefore, you may have more success with Leatherique on your 900 while your newer cars may absorb little, if any, of this product. For modern cars, you're really only paying for the leather smell so Lexol or Griot's should be fine. I've tried Hide Food, Leatherique and Lexol on my car, and am sticking with Lexol for now. Again, this is likely because my car has sealed leather so the pores really won't absorb any of the conditioner.
