Removing fine scratches

After washing car today I noticed a few very long but fine scratches on the hood. They are only noticable in certain light conditions. I take it they came from going to the automatic car wash....yes ...I admit I do this sometimes.. the towels they use to dry can be less then clean as it looks like a very small particle was grazed across the face of paint. I am reluctant to use any rubbing compound as this is a new car...'04 and that seems way too aggressive for such a subtle scratch. I applied a new coat of Klasse to the clean surface and now its basically invisible except if you're really looking for it. I'm sure other obsessive types know what I'm talking about. What is the best way to get rid of the scratch ? I'm a bit a of detailing newbie.
