Another solution..I've been involved selling Melamine foam cleaning pads..AKA Mr. Clean Magic eraser..should work well on textured surfaces and all you do is soak in water and scrub..no chemicals. The pad actually wears away as it cleans like a pencil eraser and because it's made up of infinitesimal fibers, it can get into surfaces that sponges can't.

I haven't used it much on my car yet, but anxious to use it on my wheels and interior..NOT for use on painted surfaces..

IN fact, the Air Force uses it to clean carbon deposits behind the jet's on F-16's and they love it!
