Leather, Real or Fake? Posted by Johnson [Email] (#3237) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Johnson) on Tue, 12 Jul 2005 14:38:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 99 9-5 SE 2.3L, I have not had it for very long, bought used. The leather on it is slightly cracked and has a little bit of the cardboad feel to it that others on this site have discribed. I am slightly worried about the leather spliting further, but when i look at the cracks it looks like it is a "top" layer that is cracked and an under layer is not, almost like fake lether based off of a mesh type of stuff. I have tried a copule of products to keep it from getting worse and softing up the leather. One of the best things I have used to soften up the leather is my "wonder shoe balsm" that was meant for my Doc. Martins. Anyways, my questions are, is the leatehr real lether? or is it some other product? and is there a good way of repairing the cracks so they will not split any further?
