You could get a proffesional to use a buffer to remove them. I have had it done before and was worth every penny. The trick is to find someone who knows what they are doing. The way to prevent swirls is not to rub back and forth with the wash mit. Use more of a blotting action. Also, when drying BLOT the water off, do not rub. Works great on my 62 MGB (with 25 lyear old lacqer) and my 87 900.
