Cleaning dash buttons?

I have a '00 9-3 Viggen. Due to the really stupid location of the pop out cup holder on the dash, I managed to spill coke onto the Trip Computer SID. The buttons stick down when pushed now. I've pulled the buttons off and cleaned them, but the coke got into the rod things going back into the dash. I've used a q-tip soaked in alcohol to try to wash it out, but they still stick. Anyone know a good way of getting it cleaned up?
