Went to the Ray Korman BMW open house with some friends this past weekend. Larry Emmons from Emmons Coachworks was there doing a demo on the Zymol products. His presentation was extremely informative and I was impressed with the thought and techniques that he advocated. With that said I will be purchasing some of their products for use on my 2003 9-5 Aero. Guess his presentation worked, huh? :) Anyway as most of you know, Zymol makes a SAAB-specific wax, which is great.
He suggested their vinyl care product on ouside trim, but with the 9-5's the trim around the windows is a bit different; it's really more of a plastic than anything, and I have yet to find anything that will penetrate and make it dark. It's naturally grey in color, which is silly since it always looks faded on a black car. Same thing for the door handles. I use Mother's back to black, but it doesn't really soak in and then of course after the first rain you get streaks down the side of the car. I'm guessing that's because it's oil-based. Larry Emmons said that the Zymol product won't streak like that, but I have my doubts that it will do anything about the greyish color. Guess I could always have it painted black along with the door handles.
