I'm a complete n00b (newbie) at waxing, so bear with me.
I need to polish up my new to me '95 900SET convertible. It doesn't look like its had a good coat of wax in YEARS. In the sunlight all you can see are swirls (its burgandy red). What is my best approach? just wash/wax with the run of the mill turtle wax stuff I have? any other prep work?
I have some polishing/rubbing compound (both acutally) that I used on my old NG900 a few years ago and it took the car from a cream off white back to its original bright cirrus white splendor. My white 9000 is starting to get creamy so I'm thinkin of using the rubbing compound on her. Is this stuff dangerous? (Turtle wax HD rubbing compound, and I also have the Turtle wax polishing compound). Should i bother with rubbing compound on the non waxed convertible?
I also picked up a pretty heavy duty buffer that was on sale. Any hints? (never used one).
Any suggestions on wax? I used a three step wax my friend had last year on my 9k (forget brand) and it came out looking Soooooo good, a nice mirrored finish. I want to get as much of a deep wet shiny look as possible.

Thanks for the advice!
-Chris
