Ive never run the LED style but i have run the tubed neon style. Its not hard and you dont want a battery operated kind(not even sure if they make them) Hardwired, you can actually leave them on for a few days and they wont even phase your battery. seriously, i left mine on for almost a week and the car started right up. just mount the toggle switch somwehere it has to be intentionally flipped or you can go down the road actually turning on/off your lights. Friend of mine mounted his toggle switch down by his gas pedal on the inside of the console and actually turned them on/off while he was driving. He learned after his first ticket of like $165 what happened. His lights were blue. Got a ticket for impersonating a volunteer fireman.
