I just had great success on my '03 9-3ss Linear using Turtle Wax Extreme spray wax on my 16" 10-spoke original Saab clear-coated wheels.
One tip: instead of spraying the wax directly onto the wheels, I sprayed it on to a regular wax buff pad. That way, I think I got into the crevices to spread the stuff around nicely. After 1-day of 30 miles of highway and city driving, I had no visible brake dust. The next day, I saw a tiny spot on just one wheel, so I used a spray water bottle, and just wiped it clean. That did the trick. The wax is still shining great after 3 days.
Before using the wax, however, I used the Turtle Wax F21 Foam Spray to clean the wheels. Prior to that, I'd been using DuPont's Teflon spray wheel cleaner. After reading the warning label on the back of the Teflon spray, I decided to try a spray that had fewer warnings, so switched to the F21.
