Take the grill out and remove the SAAB emblem from the front. It attaches thru a hole in the chrome front half to the black plastic half in the rear. Separate the two halves carefully with something like a butterknife. This may take some patience to work around and not break any clips. They are fragile. You should be able to use the chrome half as a template to cut out the mesh shape. It won't be perfect and you will need to trim certain areas to get it to clear the clips when you are re-assembling. There again, patience will pay off in how finished it looks in the end. I think most do not remove the horizontal slats from the black plastic rear half, but I did and I think it looks much better. This can be done with a dremel or in a pinch, maybe a coping saw and a razor knife. The latter method will take some time however. The trick really is in trimming the mesh and how well you can get it to clear the clips yet still make it look like an unbroken piece once re-assembled. Best of luck.
