I have the BBS RK II wheels on my aero and love the look. However the clear coat is failing on one. it is lifting up, and there appears to be oxidation under it. looks like hell if you are closer than 5 ft.
I am looking for an inexpensive way to make it look good if not perfect again.
is i possible to remove the clear coat? if so how?
- paint stripper? (will it damage the tires?)
- wire brush (scratch the wheel I reckon)
- sand blaster? (I can borrow one, but what media to use? is it too harsh?)
I have read the posts on refinishing alloys, but the fact that this wheel is a two piece design makes that approach problematic.
thanks!
