Paint nirvana...I've found it

Hi Gang,
I spent a couple of hours detailing my '91 MC Yellow 900T convertible and found paint nirvana! The car looked great before, but even with wax, had a lot of minor scratches and swirl marks.
After using some 3M Perfect It Rubbing compound on my '03 Aero wagon to get rid of some serious bird crapola (the ONLY thing that would get it off...and there is clearcoat damage thanks to the acidity..what do these birds eat??), I decided to test it on my convertible. After one spot turned out looking great, I went over the entire car. I could see the old wax (Zymol, which I put on this spring), and plenty of oxidation coming off as the applicator was turning yellow.
Afterwards, I applied a coat of Griot's Garage Best in Show wax, which was easy on, easy off (unlike Zymol).
This morning, in the sunshine, the difference was remarkable. The paint looked smooth, glasslike, no more swirl marks! I probably should have used a "glaze" product as an intermediary step, but didn't have any on hand...
I highly recommend these two products!
Cheers,
Paul H.
