Very true. The NC does not leak, nothing runs out as a rule, but the piston seals leak and the first sign is that sometimes the petal goes to the floor and you can't stop. So you pump it and get some pressure to stop. But you just pushed the piston cups over the rough spot again and cut the cut seal edges some more.
So put a wooden block (2x4() behind the petal to limit its travel.
Change the fluid in the reservor every year. This stupid design is vented to atmosphere and this is the only location were mosture gets in and thats what causes the MC bore to rust. Suck the old fluid out and put in fresh fluid. Fast, simple, inexpensive and effective. To be more effective, also push the caliper pistons in to push back fluid to the reservor to get more fluid out and more new dry fluid in.
Also do this before a bleed. Don't pump that fouled mess down through the system.
