The mystery guest was a 9-5 Aero. I'm kinda' fond of the larger car and driving back to back with the small fry, it was my personal favorite. I had myself half talked into a 9-3SS until then, darn.

Hands down the 9-3's were the best handling cars. I was suprised to find out that the C240 was the V6 and not the straight six, as I thought I knew it all.

I was impressed by the perceived quality of the consoles in the German cars, a little dressier than the 9-3, although on functon the Saab was superior. Saab wins the cupholder wars too.

Saab was the roomiest, especially in back, but I fit front and rear in all the cars anyway.

Turbo torque really shines through. The sixes are sweet, but somewhat weak until 4,000 rpm.

Couldn't get ESP to do anyting but lock the brakes on the wet, soapy lane change stability test area. All the cars just plowed straight ahead. I did get the 325 to wag it's tail, none of the others would.

Our event was partially conducted on the cement floor, with out the hockey ice, of our San Diego Sports Aroma (as we call it referring to all the rock concerts held there over the years. Lunch was in the basement lounge next to the floor, kinda' dark and dank, but it was tastey.

The most fun was had schmoozing the owners of Saab of Hawaii. They had stopped in San Diego specifically for the Proving Grounds and had several hours to kill before flying on to the east coast. They're having record sales there, with a loyal local clientel. If they can get rid of their kids who work for them, after all how many families are that harmonius, I could maybe sell Saabs in paradise. They are certainly wonderful folks and we had a good time sharing our Saab adventures and challenges and I showed them around San Diego before they left. They have one child who might apply to our local University of San Diego.
