WOW! You cats come down below border for tours? I did not know that. Anacortes is a mere 45 min run from my Everett domecile. Would have loved to be there, but I was busy touring NW ORYGUN in 101 degree HEAT last wkend with the local Healey club. Destination: Spruce Goose Museum, McMinnville, at brand new Evergreen Aviation Museum, superb collection of WW2 warbirds.
This is a first rate collection in an impressive new facility, and yes, Howard Hughes' infamous HK2, the erroneously named Spruce Goose, largest airplane in de world, towers over everything. I most highly recommend all airplane maniacs see this museum. Actually, there is a second aviation museum in NW ORYGUN also, quite worth seeing. It's in Tillamook on the coast, housed in an enormous WW2 dirigible hanger, and it focuses on US naval aviation, ie; Grumman Avenger,F4F, Douglas AD, and so forth.
