I put dexcool in my 90 900t in 95 when dexcool first came out, thinking is was better. Ran with it for 150k miles until time for headgasket at 245k. Wonder if it contributed? I must admit that the dexcool is a good minor leak detector, since you get orange crust wherever it is weeping out.
Switched to MB after new headgasket. Approaching 300k miles and MB is clean as a whistle after one year. Car seems to run cooler, but probably "car wash effect."
Also have a 95 tahoe with dexcool. Quick connect heaterhose leaked and corroded to water pump...time for new water pump. Radiator developed leak at plastic side tanks...time for new radiator. Keep the damn thing overfilled just like GM recommends. Time to switch to MB coolant on this beast, too, i guess.
