go that far from campus ? There are a couple of biotech companies in Emeryville that have been started by UC/Stanford professors.
It is a good central location, especially convenient to your wife and your commute down to Fremont. I-880 can be crowded depending on what time of the day as many people moved to the East Bay for more affordable housing many years back.
I think there is an independent Saab place near Mountain View area, Scott Peterson probably knows where it is. It is not that far (California standard) from Fremont, take the Dumbarton bridge.
Some years ago, there was a Saab (+ Audi, VW and Porche) dealer in Palo Alto called Carl Carlson. I think the dealer may still be there but no longer a Saab dealer however. I image there must be quite a few "older" Saabs that need service and I was told the Saab dealer in Burlingame (??) isn't bad either.
Best wishes in your move and let us know. The Bay Area is quite different from Cleveland for sure :-), drive safe.
