I have to agree that the Northeast, where Saabs were first recognized in 1956 for their unique winter abilities, is most likely the largest and deepest concentration of Saabs in the history of America. By my own personal and definitely amateur survey, it seems also true that college towns in ALL states have large Saab populations. This fits Saab's advertising slogan of the 80s - "The most intellegent car ever built", and supports my pet theory that *traditional* Saabs ( those weird ones!) have always been attractive to counter culture, scientists, engineers, and otherwise heavy-thinking and independent non-fashionable types. Since they were certainly not "styled" for the mainstream and conformist tastes of the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
Seattle, next to my Everett home, was built partially on a large Scandinavian population, thus Seattle has always been very friendly and supportive of both Swedes. It is not an accident that good old ScanWest is in North Seattle. Seattle is also the center of high tech, liberal and progressive thought in WA state, ( GO HUSKIES!), just as Madison, Eugene, Berkeley, Palo Alto, Boulder, Gainesville, etc, etc, are in their respective states.
Saabs are for thoughtful, educated, and free thinkers, folks never concerned about what the neighbors think, or what the neighbors drive.
Just my opinion.
