Hi-
I first posted this on the 99 board, but I'd like to find out what everyone else thinks as well...
I would appreciate ANY AND ALL replies from our knowledgable member roster...
I've had several 95's, 96's, Sonetts and a few 900's, but never a 99 -- yet. A friend who knows I like old Saabs told me about a car parked in an outbuilding behind a body shop, which turned out to be a 1973 99 with 1,920 original miles. <ZERO> rust, original paint, tires, exhaust, etc. The car was apparently bought new by an old guy in 1973 who promptly got backed into in the driver's door and he brought it to the body shop to fix. They put on a new door and trim, but before it was finished the owner passed and the car ended up sitting there for years, etc. etc.
What's it worth? Throw some numbers at me. I'd like to get an idea of what I should pay. It'll need new tires, fuel pump, battery, carpet and headliner right away. But with the super low mileage and lack of rust, I can't pass it up.
