So I showed up, spoke to a salesperson, who looked like I was inconveniencing him by asking for a 40-55kmi '99-'00 9-3 in the $12k's. "We only get the very best pre-owns." Well I'm sorry I wasted his time. I certainly won't be going there again when the tech sector picks up again, and I do have the budget for a *new* Saab. (anyone need a website, it'll directly fund our first few payments!)
I mean, granted I am 25 and was wearing, gasp! a tee shirt and baseball hat (it was 80°+ out!), but when am I old enough to get treated seriously? Our first car purchase together, and at our very first dealer we got shown the door in 5 minutes flat (actually ten, we had to wait 5 until they could find someone whose time we could waste). Guess our money is no good there. The saleman was no more than maybe two years older than me, to boot.
Sad. Here I am, a Saab owner for seven years, been to a National Owner's Convention, and yet I'm not fit. Sorry to ramble. Any more suggestions of places I won't have to wear a tie to buy a car? Trying again tomorrow night...
