It's the '70-86 C900 type of bumpers that can take a whump and return virtually unscathed. And just who is going to buy something with those big cowcatchers front and back? Not the 60% of SS buyers who are moving up from Honda, etc. Not the 20% of buyers who are jumping ship from BMW, Audi, and Volvo ... well, maybe the Volvo ones would...
Much of the damage tends to be the cost to purchase and finish a new bumper skin (I haven't checked the story, but in the past, it was that.) Those huge, one-piece plastic slabs are expensive! Look for sheet metal damage or damage to lights to indicate inadequate bumper performance.
