Really, really slow news day Posted by Ari [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Anti-gravity propulsion?, Bob M, Mon, 8 Sep 2003 13:27:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
This is an offshoot of someone with little enough else to do, that had to get something in before the editor fired him. And an editor that had some space to fill.
Is there an anti-gravity drive? It's not physically impossible, but there are some pretty big real-world issues. But I don't see that as the point.
The article is pure speculation. All it says is, "Gee, could there be something?" Who exactly, did they talk to at Boeing? Was it their Spokesperson? Someone official from the news office? Or was it some guy in a bar having fun with a reporter?
Yes, they may have some 'working' on it. It could be as simple as someone doodling around with some math - that's a darn long way from a Jetson's flying car. The government is always handing out SBIR's for off-the-wall research.
I'd love it to come true. I'm just not betting the farm on it quite yet. Heck, I can produce an anti-gravity device, I just need a captive black hole, and magnetic monopole, and about 5 kilometers of a room-temperature superconductor.
