Things to do:
don't drive.
pull the oil dipstick; if the oil looks emulsified (mixed with water) you need an oil change.
there may be water in the intercooler.
My story..
Hit a patch of floodwater; it got sucked up the intake and the engine died. Got a tow to the agent, and this is what they did:
removed airbox, K&N, dried, cleaned and re-oiled.
vacuumed water out of the cylinders.
removed turbo plumbing, drained water from intercooler.
removed and cleaned IAC, cleaned TB
drained the oil.
When they were sure no water was left, they got some 'old' oil from someone else's engine oil change, put that in and run the engine till warm, then drained again. They did this twice before filling up with the new oil. (If you're just going to drain and change the oil, there may be enough water left in the sump/engine block to cause a sludge problem later...)
There was no damage to the block or turbo, still runs great. I'm just more wary of floods these days and now aware of the fact that the air intake is pretty low on the car.
