said Peugeot, Citreon and Renault have kept a presence in the US and are always on the fence about coming back or not. Same with Alfa. Wouldn't you love to have the business selling extended warranties on those?
Next time you see a funky car, check out the license plate. It will probably be a Michigan manufacturer or NJ distributor plate; then you know it's some kind of test mule. A few weeks ago I saw a Ssongyang SUV cruising around LA, I've also seen Holdens and Audi A3s. They are typically loaded with computers, fuel consumption gauges and microphones and have electric eyes pointing at the wheels or the ground for telemetry data.
