...it broke down. Entering the freeway 1 block from the dealer for the test drive, an alarm bell started "binging" I noticed the airbag light was on. Then I noticed I was driving steady at 50 mph with the engine revving at 4,000. Thought I'd left it in manual 2nd, but it wouldn't go anywhere else. We stopped alongside the road to restart the car, but it stayed in 2nd. Had to drive about 2 miles to the exit, then surface streets back to the dealership. After about 1 1/2 miles on the freeway, Salesman had the gall to ask "besides the transmission, how does it feel?"! Told him I'm a believer in omens, and this was a bad one.
