A true Saab mystery

I noticed while opening the gate at my house this morning that the top 2" or so of my antenna mast is bent. Now how did this happen? Antenna goes all the way down still and since it's retractible, I don't suspect vandalism. The thing is hard to bend so I doubt it's from hitting a low tree (there are some overhanging shade trees in my work parking lot). It is just kinked, bent about 15 degrees or so from straight. Doesn't bother me, I think it gives the 900 a bit of scruffy charm, like a puppy with ears that fold over at the top. But what's the deal? Any guesses?
