Odd tire out - need some replacement advice

I just bought a 2001 9.5 2.3ltr. Three of the tires are Nokian Hakkapeliita 1 winter tires. The 4th Nokian had been replaced on the right rear with a Cooper tire. Obviously, I don't like driving with one odd tire. The winter tires are partly worn, but should be good for another winter, at least. I'm thinking of leaving the front tires alone for now and getting two new all season tires for the rear. Can a reasonable match be made this way? In Spring, I'd probably get two more all seasons to make a matched set of 4. Does it make sense and is it safe to have different front and rear tires? Any suggestions on good tires to consider? I appreciate the difference excellent tires make, but I don't want to be too extravagant. I live in the mid-atlantic and have found all season tires on other cars to be fine for the limited winter challenges around here. Thanks.
