Kosher and sea salt does taste better, but I'm not a huge salt fan, and have regular plain iodized salt at home.
I use a regular shaker for salt, and a grinder for pepper. We still have the same salt in the shaker since I got married almost three years ago. We don't use too much of it. I usually shake the salt into my hand, then dump it onto the dish. Then I know how much I am getting. If I use salt at a restraunt or someone elses place, I also shake some into my hand first to determine how it flows.
