This does sound really cool....now only if I had the balls to do it. I'd just be afraid that I'd screw something up. I've been schooled as an EE, but I'm (admittedly) a poor technician.
I assume that if it's not illegal that we'll soon start to hear of places offering a service to set this up. This would be a great use of my ipaq. Dock it in the car to use with the GPS unit, and then take it with you for all other ipaq use.
The ipaq has wireless LAN and Bluetooth built-in. I thought I read somewhere that the Saab is equipped with network and bluetooth accessibility...I Wonder if this built-in GPS is connected to this network and could be addressed without hardwiring?
