Agree with the rectilinear world issue and the leaky window issue.
Another problem with them is passing the local building department structural standards. Engineering calculations are typically a requirement, and most of the "planbook" kit homes don't come with these stamped drawings. The structure is trickier than the rectilinear world. Make sure you can get the correct info for it so you can get the building permit. Ditto with the rest of the "alternative" construction techniques that aren't typical construction. Theoretically, it is a great structural shape, but each of the bends creates several force transitions (and engineering calculations) versus a straight stick. Might mean additional engineering cost.
Finding a builder for alternative dwellings can also be difficult and may end up costing you a hell of a lot more than what you can save in heating bills over a decade or two: words like custom and specialist come to mind ($$$)...
Covenants & zoning may be an issue; make sure to look at those too.
You can't easily add on to the house. You can't easily get a large dome.
Also keep in mind that if it's such a great thing, it wouldn't be so rare..
