Many years ago when I was young, well intentioned and ignorant... some would ask what changed :), I had the trany out on my Opel GT to do a preemtive clutch relining. I was able to get new lingings, drilled out the old rivits and rivited new linings on! So who has done that?

But I degress. While the trany was off, I drained it and what to add for gear oil. I thought that my translated from German tech manual was bogus... they did mis translate the N.m to ft.lbs and I had already twisted off a bolt with a T-wrench after replacing the pilot bearing. So what oil did I add. EP90. Well. the gear box made this loud noise for a couple of miles on cold Canadian winter mornings. But the energy disipation in the GB warmed it up quite quickly.

Is not so cold in Kansas and what winter we have is quite short compared to Ontario. Thats ok by me. But the summers are so hot, we probably spend more time hiding from the elements than up thar.
