Most cars run extremely rich. This allows for plenty of unburnt fuel. Do you know what happens to unburnt fuel at low rpm? It seeps past the rings and contaminates the oil. Do you know what happens when your oil is dilluted with fuel? It doesn't lubricate as originally intended. Do you know what happens when you've got inadequate lubrication? Go drain a few quarts out of your block and rip around town at high rpm for a bit and get back to me about the amount of metal powder stuck to your magenetic drain plug.
This may not be a concern for you, but it is for others.
