Remember that the goal of small claims is two-fold. First, you can hope to get your money and second you can attempt to ruin whatever good-credit they have. An unpaid settlement will be reported to national credit agencies.
Normally I would say not to hold much hope for getting money from the suit, but they own a Range Rover and clearly come from some level of affluence. Obviously you can hope this bodes concerning their interest in maintaining a good credit rating.
I agree that small claims would be a good way to go. Does your monetary request exceed the small claims limit? The one time I sued someone in small claims, the limit was $1K. Furthermore, once you file suit they forfeit the opportunity to run the settlement through their insurance company. I say stick it to them and best of luck!
