In response to Rogers reply concerning federal emission controls. The exhaust manifold and catalytic converter is a single part and is covered under the 80,000mi/8-year warranty.Dealer picking up the tab will be dependant on mileage and how loudly the wheel can squeek (squeeky wheel gets the oil). My 1998 4-door Civic LX with 214,000 miles has a cracked manifold on both sides of where the primary O2 sensor mounts on manifold/cat converter and will not pass smog test (.50 too high on HCs and COs at idle only.Passes the 2500rpm test easily). The Civic goes to the dealership tommorrow. If Honda does not cover repairs I will lay out roughly $400 plus 2 new O2 sensors to complete the repairs myself and hopefully pass the smog test...wish me luck!
