and wound up with a 96 9000CSE. Almost bought an Aero, but it needed too much. Maybe should have done it anyway.
IMHO, the NG900 was OK (one of my best friends has one, now with 150K on it) and they are good driving cars. They are much smaller inside and the ride seems jouncier, but still smoother than my old C900. Handling is nice, quicker than the 9K, definitely sportier, but since either can go thru corners on a back road faster than I'm likely to take it, it probably doesn't matter a lot.
I went with the 9K partly for its size. We use it as a family car when we don't need the capacity of my wife's Exploder, and I've taken it on skiing, kayak and fishing trips with a lot of gear and a couple of people. It just holds a ton of stuff. The space is nice on a long run to Maine or northern NH. And I felt it would be a better road car on business trips. And after driving both cars, I just liked the overall feel of the 9000 better, especially on the highway. It makes a 7 hour drive absolutely painless.
Be sure to drive several versions of each. In my search I found there to be a huge difference between the same model of either car. And pay attention to all the stuff that you have to look for on each car. For 9Ks check out quasimotors.com for some great 9000 info.
Good luck.
