I'm a student at University of Richmond and fellow Saaber. I love this town and everything that it offers. School is out in the West End which is very suburban and middle-upper class. Personally, I think the Fan is a great area to live if you are looking for something a little more urban. Haven't really explored the Northside all that much so I really can't offer an opinion.
Moore Cadillac/Saab/Hummer/Subaru is a great facility on Broad street in the West End. Took my car in there month after getting down here for a second opinion on the failed turbo/blue smoke issue that is prone to the '99 9-5. Car had 250 miles left on the warranty and they replaced the turbo without any hassle. Can't say the same about my dealer in PA.
There is also a place Called Twinstar BMW Saab downtown that I've driven by many times but have no idea about their reputation. May be worth checking out as they are not a dealer but only do service.
Alrighty, enough rambling and back to study macro-economics.
Enjoy your time in Richmond.
Andrew
