I'm very sorry to hear about your accident. Thankfully you are alright and the offending driver's insurance is stepping up to the plate. For a good idea of what you should get for the car, be sure to check out the sites below. I believe Edmunds and Kelley Blue Book are based on actual selling prices and more-closely reflect the true market value. I may have gotten them confused with other sources, but I think that is correct. Also, it would be a good idea to search around in various classifieds and find a car as similar to yours as you possibly can. This is a very good place to do that, as well. All insurance companies act differently in regard to negotiations. All you can really do is just that...negotiate. Try not to settle, but then again, be realistic. Keep in mind that new parts can't always be taken into consideration, as they may be simple routine maintenance items that the insurance company really can't compensate you for. If there are any significant aftermarket items, upgrades, or modifications, get out those receipts and at least try to make a point. Hopefully everything will work out in your favor.
