Howdy folks. Got a couple of questions about Auto-RX.
My first, is there any chance, even a remote one, that using this stuff in the prescribed manner could screw anything up?
My wife's car is an '00 Civic EX with a bit over 90k miles. It has gotten oil changes with dino religiously at 3,000 miles, occasionally going to 4,000 or so. Still runs great.
Had it in at Honda for the 90k service and they tried to sell an engine flush because of sludge they claimed had built up. I passed on it, as I understand (from Pat Goss and others) that flushing an engine that's sludged up can actually cause more harm that good. I also think it's an "up sell" that they try on anyone who's car has a few miles on it.
I'm thinking of switching the Civic over to synthetic, and thought maybe this Auto-RX stuff would be a good thing to start with. But I'm naturally skeptical of this sort of product, so I'd like some feedback. Thanks!
jeff
ps the Honda-tech site, where this question may be more appropriate, is so big and consumed by know grammr posts n rice boyz that I haven't bothered.
