British Columbia doesn't use 'em; Alberta doesn't ... ..like 'em
Their plants are (I say again) closed.
The Russians have a scooper - the Be-200, supported by
EADS (AirBus), of which 9 copies have been acquired by
option at Hawkins & Powers (Wyoming), which lost one
of the ill-fated large air tanker crews in '02.
33 planes have had USFS contracts terminated because
ensuing investigations (2)showed the system couldn't
stand on the equipment in the air.
Why should the US pay to re-open Bombardier plants when
Irkut (Sukhoi) is open, has a better, more modern, less
expensive Rolls-Royce jet engine-equipped product if it's
scoopers we're talking here?
We didn't start with scoopers. You brought up the scoopers.
We're talking disaster-mitigators ... and only one of 'em actually
works.
