Not too many Self-wash ones around anymore, but check your local yellow pages. The taxes/land values (not to mention the pace of the local folks) are such that the self-wash ones don't generate enough revenue.
For the vacuum - many of the full-serve washes also have quarter-eating vacuum cleaners for self-use.
I assume you're in an apartment - if so you might find they have an outside spigot and all you need to do is invest in a hose, bucket and soap.
Another option (for the summer-time at least) is to get your bathing suit on and take a bucket-of-suds and a sponge out while it's raining. Let nature rinse while you wash. I did this while in college and many of the sorority members next door copied me (thus turning car washing into a whole new spectator sport for me and my buddies!)
Or drop me an e-mail (I'm in Islip) and you can use my hose - heck, I'll even let you wash a few of mine while you're at it!!
