Beck,
I don't mean to be picky, but if it was an automatic it was not a Type S. The Type S comes only with a manual 6 speed manual. No automatic is offered. Also 40 less horsepower than the Type S, which makes a big difference in such a light car. Acura puts a pretty pathetic OEM tire on both models of the RSX, something I'm learning to work with when I autocross the car, but hope to eventually change when the time comes. I love the RSX in the curves, and the slalom, because it transitions quickly, nicely, and predictably. The Jetta is also a good car. I particularly like the instrument layout and interior and prefer it to the RSX. I just didn't find the Jetta as nimble and quick as the RSX-S I eventually bought. I have not found the opportunity to drive a 9-2x. I am curious how it does, but when I buy another Saab it will have to replace my 2000 9-3, which means it must be able to travel vast distances at speed in comfort while carrying adults and luggage.
