New to Saab's, bear with me...
What would be a good, reliable, newer (less than 6 yrs old) replacement for an old 9000? A 9-5 or 9-3? What model years/options to avoid? What about the 97-98 9000?

OK, I did exactly what logic sayes not to: I bought an old foreign car at an auction with 226K miles on it without even getting a test drive! The only smart thing I did was get a new AAA membership before I rode my bike 50 miles to pick the car up.
I went to the auction to look at some newer Jettas and ended up buying an '87 9000 turbo. It was love at first drive. I figured I'd limp along the back roads home, listening for something to blow apart. Instead, I was doing 75 mph up I-5 wishing there were more twists and turns ten minutes after leaving the lot. And most amazingly, virtually everthing on the car worked!
Cars to me have always just represented an udesireable but necessary mode of transportation. But the feel of this car for me is unique. I now understand why there are Saab fanatics. And now I'm hooked and already thinking about getting second, late model Saab. Luckily I live where there are many Saab's and a couple good indie shops.
My priorities are:
-It has to be a wagon (or at least hatch).
-It has to be reliable.
-I'd like it to handle as well/better than my 9000.
Otherwise the field is wide open. I'm not hung up on details. I don't need a ton of power. The myriad of luxury accessories/options on the newer cars intimidate me and seem unnecessary (just seem like potential maintenance issues) and anything will seem like luxury compared to what I've driven.
Any ideas? Any message threads on this site I should look for?
