that what you thought was negative, wasn't really negative. Or that the lender who reported the negative removed the entire account listing and the impact of the additional account outweighed the degree of negative. In credit lingo a "paid was" may have added more than a non report, especially with a limited credit history.
I can imagine a slight negative being offset by a dispute. Lenders aren't fond of contentious folks.
It's very speculative on my part. Contact the credit agency.
As a general credit score rule for folks with credit challenges, adding good accounts does a lot more for your credit score than settling or disputing previous negatives which has almost no effect.
