The best quote I've had for a linear wagon/auto/comfort package / metallic paint was right around 27.5K. All that was left was to pay sales tax. That's with the $7K incentive and $500 loyalty. I've got the GM supplier discount, but I believe that I could do just as well (possibly better) without it.
I've talked with two dealers, and both would be willing to get another car. They implied that the car would somehow cost more, but in the interest of making a sale, the price would be the same. Or, in other words, bargaining at no cost. Dealers want to clear their lots, but if they can make a sale, they'll make a sale, even if it's somebody else's car their selling. Nowdays they don't swap - they just buy the car off the other guy's lot. The dealer with the car you'd want doesn't want another car on his lot. He sees it as a quick sale. It might be different if they were getting MSPR, but at these prices, the margin just isn't worth fighting for.
I'm in Connecticut, and the dealer was quite willing to cover the state (OK, it's a small state) and up into Mass. I can say that if you want silver with grey leather, they're thick on the ground. Relatively.
