In this fax you will find documentation which shows the value of the Talladega Red 1990 SAAB 900 turbo SPG in question, claim number ---------.

Your initial value of the car was only $2800. The purpose of totaling the car is for us to be reimbursed the cost to replace the car with one just like it. You cannot purchase a 1990 SAAB 900 SPG in Talladega Red for $2800.

The “SPG” is a rare, special edition of the SAAB 900 turbo. It is a highly collectible automobile. In 1990, 492, yes that’s 492, Talladega Red 900 turbo SPG’s were imported to the US. Who knows how many are left today. It is an extremely difficult car to find. Your valuation of $2800 does not reflect this. It does not take into account the actual real world value of the car, and what it would cost us to replace it.

You will see the NADA book value. NADA officially recognizes the SAAB 900 turbo SPG as a collectible car. It lists the value at $8100 for an example in average condition. (The car in this case was in exemplary condition).

You will also see classified ads depicting SAAB 900 turbo SPG’s in Talladega Red, and their asking prices. Many are well over $6000.

I’m afraid that $2800 will not buy a replacement 1990 SAAB 900 turbo SPG, and we therefore cannot accept this offer.

(I faxed along with this the NADA value and classified ads from SAABnet) That was over a week ago They still wouldn't budge.
