You should remove the glove box, as it will help. GenuineSaab.com has a write up about removing the trionic unit. Look under performance info, or service info. I'll assume you are an electronics guy if you are willing to take it out and then brave cracking it open to inspect?! Not sure if you will even be able to do this, although I did so in my old Eclipse.

What is pointing the dealer to replace the ECU? Any symptoms you notice? What are the codes being pulled for the CEL? Do they "erase" it, and it comes right back?

This is all important because several times it has been seen here that the dealer goes the easy route and says, maybe the ECU? Oh, and it will be $1K+ and only MAY solve the problem.

Just a thought, and more information would help. Good luck.
